NOAA Teacher at Sea Alumni Mary Patterson (TAS 2009), Dana Clark (TAS 2014), and NOAA Captain Rick Brennan (Chief of the Coast Survey Development Laboratory in Silver Spring, MD) presented at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History’s Expert Is In Event on December 17, 2014. They spoke about how NOAA ships chart the seafloor, provided hands-on activities, and shared their research and experiences with the public at the Smithsonian’s Qrius Education Center. Nautical charts are created by NOAA and the Coast Survey to support safe and efficient marine navigation and a healthy coastal environment.

There are two images. One is of two women standing on each side of a NOAA Teacher at Sea sign. The other is a man in a military uniform talking with people.
