June Teisan Inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame

Congratulations to June Teisan (TAS 2015) for being inducted into the Class of 2016 National Teachers Hall of Fame (NTHF)! June is a middle school science teacher from Harper Woods, Michigan and was one of five exceptional teachers in the nation inducted into this 25th anniversary class.  

During her 27 years as a science teacher, June was named Michigan Teacher of the Year and was one of four finalists for 2008 National Teacher of the Year. She also received the White House Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Teaching in 2005. June is currently an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow with the NOAA Office of Education. In May 2015, June was aboard NOAA Ship Oregon II while scientists conducted a SEAMAP Spring Plankton Survey. You can learn more about this important scientific work by clicking here.
