Applications

TASAA NOAA Fellowship

We are excited to announce the launch of the TASAA NOAA Fellowship application for the 2024-25 school year. Applications are due by December 1st, 2023.

The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation’s Teacher at Sea Alumni Association (TASAA) NOAA Fellow is a term-based, one-year position for an alum of NOAA’s Teacher at Sea Program (TAS), who has successfully completed their TAS program requirements.

The intent of the fellowship is to expand the fellow’s connection to NOAA and allow them to contribute their professional expertise to NOAA offices, as well TASAA, in a more formalized capacity. The fellowship is designed for alumni who are interested in exploring how they can use their experience to support education and outreach efforts beyond the classroom.

The fellowship will begin in June 2024 and is a one-year position. Exact start date can be flexible around last day of school for classroom teachers.

The application period for the fellowship will close on December 1st, 2023.

TAS Alumni Application to Sail

The NOAA Teacher at Sea Program will accept applications this year (2023) for teachers to sail in the 2024 season. Since this is the first time that new applications have been accepted since 2019, to ensure that we can offer the program to as many new participants as possible, we will not be selecting an alum to sail for the 2024 season.

If you are not a Teacher at Sea alum, you can find the main program application and information here. The online application for NOAA Teacher at Sea Program’s 2024 Field Season will be available via a link on this website throughout the month of November, starting November 1. All application materials are due at 5:00 pm PT on November 30, 2023. A PDF preview of the application questions (PDF, 11 pages) is available now.
