Valerie Bogan (TAS 2012) presented at the 42nd Annual Hoosier Association of Science Teachers (HASTI) Conference for Professional Development in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 6-8, 2013. Ms. Bogan presented information about the Teacher at Sea Program and her experience to educators from all grade levels. 

She also presented hands-on activities that she developed after her TAS experience, specifically a freshwater chemistry lab that allows students who aren’t located on the coast to do the same sort of tests they do on a ship, but on fresh water. Ms. Bogan said, “This type of activity helps to make the NOAA TAS trip real for students who haven’t even seen the ocean.”
