Channa Comer (2011) Creates Engineering Design Challenge

Channa Comer (TAS 2011) a high school science teacher at Urban Assembly Academy of History and Citizenship for Young Men in Bronx, NY was aboard R/V Hugh R. Sharp while scientists conducted fisheries research on sea scallops in northeastern waters.

Ms. Comer challenges her students to design a sea scallop dredge in order to understand the impact of human activity on ocean ecology, and to discover how the engineering and design process can be used to solve problems.
