Paul Ritter (TAS 2013) was the keynote speaker at the 18th annual Science in the South Conference at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL on January 31, 2014. K-12 educators from across Illinois attended to build teaching skills, expand content knowledge and network with other teachers. Mr. Ritter shared his experience aboard NOAA ship Pisces with over 200 science educators. He also spoke about the Prescription Pill and Drug Disposal Program (P2D2) and State Farm’s Operation Endangered Species, two student-led initiatives at Pontiac High School where he teaches.
