NOAA Teacher at Sea Alumni Volunteer at USA Science and Engineering Festival

Elizabeth Martz (TAS 2007) and Steven King (TAS 2010) volunteered at the NOAA booth on April 26 and 27, 2014 during the third USA Science and Engineering Festival. The festival was held at the Washington DC Convention Center and was attended by over 325,000 people. Ms. Martz displayed marine specimens and shared information with the public about her Teacher at Sea Experience. Mr. King shared information about NOAA buoys and then helped children construct their own buoy models! A huge thank you to both Ms. Martz and Mr. King for your hard work and time at the booth!

The mission of the USA Science & Engineering Festival is to re-invigorate the interest of our nation’s youth in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) by producing and presenting the most compelling, exciting, educational and entertaining science festival in the United States.
