Southeast Region Teacher at Sea Alumni Attend Workshop in Charleston, SC

NOAA’s Southeast Region Teacher at Sea Alumni (SE TASA) Workshop was held on May 18-20, 2018 in Charleston, South Carolina. Fourteen Teacher at Sea Alumni (TASA) from the region (KY, FL, GA, NC, and SC) attended this two-and-a-half-day professional development workshop in order to strengthen oceanographic content knowledge, build partnerships with NOAA scientists, gain knowledge about NOAA resources, and build an alumni network in their region.

SE TASA toured the Hollings Marine Lab, learned about the art and science connection, gained access behind-the-scenes at the South Carolina Aquarium, travelled to a barrier island, shared lessons, and got to know each other—all in one short weekend. You can view the NOAA Teacher at Sea Program Southeast Region Alumni page and read a full workshop report here.
